This stage will be a little bit difficult because now the cereal fields will disappear but you will be accompanied by lots of colorful olive trees and vineyards. There are a lot of rivers and bridges that hide lots of secrets and medieval legends. Estella will welcome you with poppy fields and wheat fields.
Recommendation Pilgrim
Simple stage, both for its smooth orography and the few kilometers traveled on asphalt. Remember that in the absence of signaling in some crossings we must always continue in front.
We will only pass through Palacios de Valduerna and Celada de la Vega before arriving in Astorga, not finding any problem to eat or drink something in any of the two locations. This stage does not pose any additional difficulties for cyclists or people with mobility.

Itinerary
Km 0 – Inicio
We set course in the direction of the train tracks from the Plaza de la Asunción. From there we will have to continue straight until Lope de Vega street. We cross the road and link with Salvador streets, Vía de la Plata on the right and finally Marcos de Segovia on the left. nce the latter is crossed, we save the train tracks and leave La Bañeza entering a track on the right. nce the latter is crossed, we save the train tracks and leave La Bañeza entering a track on the right. We will face for this the few kilometers that remain until Palacios de Valduerna, after deviating a couple of times to the left and to the right respectively. As indicated by its name, this was the area chosen by King Alfonso V de León to install one of its residences, granting it from that name. In addition, the remains of the Bazán castle, property of the Vizcondes de la Valduerna, are still preserved until they decided to move to the neighboring La Bañeza. We cross this municipality passing through its church with dedication to Santa María and the town hall, after which we leave the urban center passing through the municipal cemetery. Thus we will link with a track of clay soil that advances surrounded by weeds and thymes for approximately six kilometers, after which we will come across a road. We continue from here on the right until we pass a stream, just at that moment we leave it behind a track that starts on the left. A few meters we will have to cross the national road and turn towards the Valderrey and Nistal Station, leaving it a few meters down another road on the left that leads to the Turienzo river. Thanks to an old Roman bridge we cross it and continue straight on until we find ourselves again with the train tracks. We cross them again and continue on your right until you cross them again and thus access to Celada de la Vega, hamlet of San Justo de la Vega, along the national road. We are ahead approximately three kilometers on asphalt, accessing Astorga by San Roque Street and by La Bañeza after climbing some stairs. A few meters away we will find the wonderful Plaza de España, where the town hall is located and the end of this Vía de la Plata. What better place than this to end this great adventure that in the old Asturica Augusta, a city created under the protection of a Roman military camp and that supposed a great communications center for the whole Empire.
