This is a long stage, you can divide it, staying the night in Oliva Plasencia or in Jarrilla. The most wonderful monument in this stage is the Roman Arc in Caparra, a unique monument in Spain.
Recommendation Pilgrim
About six kilometers away from the beginning of the stage, you will have the chance to take a diversion to Oliva de Plasencia. Right in Venta Quemada you can continue through a local road to the right up to the hostel of this village. Likewise, we will have a little forward the option to take another diversion to Jarilla, just a couple of kilometers away of our route, where we will find a pair of hostels. We will have to take the diversion to the right, eight kilometers after Caparra’s Roman Arc. Both options are perfectly signaled.

Itinerary
Km 0 – Inicio
You will start this stage in Carcaboso, from the Plaza de España square, then you will have to turn right and go through the Calle Pozo street. You can continue straight forward and save some distance but you will not walk through the original route. This route will join the original one in the next kilometers, right when arriving to a gate after a service road. If you turn right you will continue through the original route, this is the best option. A little bit after you will have to change your way again, this time to go through a path to the left and continue through some rural paths for 2 kilometres. Remember to close those gates you may open so the cattle of the area will not escape! At the end of this stage we will find a service road to the left and then opening again a new gate. Once we pass through it, we will go on by another very similar road, and then will leave it next to a milestone to the right, about a kilometer and a half away. A fallen milestone will be the prove we are going on the right way, walking among stone walls and leaving behind one of them on our way to the left, after crossing another gate. You will be walk through meadows and cork oak fields for five kilometres more until get to the national road that links Oliva de Plasencia and Venta Quemada. Once you get there you will have to cross it and continue straight forward to get to the old Roman Road. Cáparra is located six kilometres from here, you will have to take into account that you will have to cross two streams before getting there. This is a unique building in Spain, being surrounded by the Forum and other typical structures of any Old Roman city, such as the famous Roman springs. This is then a mandatory stop and the perfect place to have something to eat or drink and rest a little. After our rest, we will go on through Ambroz valley, leaving behind the Roman Arc and crossing the next road, surrounded by the Casablanca meadow. Again, depending on the time of the year, we will have to overcome some streams, but this will not be difficult. Then you will continue through the Valle de Ambroz valley. Then you will have to cross some small rivers and streams more and walk through some paths until get to the asphalted road again. After walking for a while through the asphalted road you will get again to the dual carriageway and the national road, you will cross both of them through a an underpass. Then you will have to turn left to cross again the dual carriageway through an underpass and finally get to Aldeanueva del Camino. Once you get to this village you will see how wonderful and lovely it is. Its origins were an old Roman campground. Even not being an big village, it has a valuable heritage that shows the importance of this type of Roman settlements, as seen on its stony streets and bridges.
