You will walk through calm farm fields and you will get to Galisteo, a village from the Roman age and that also lived the invasion of the Arabs. You can visit some minuments such as the torre La Picota tower, a fortress built by the Christians in the 14 century. Then you will walk to Carcaboso.
You will leave Grimaldo through the road that goes towards Holguera, you will have to go through a path to the left once you have crossed the dual carriageway through an underpass. Now you will have two options:
- You can walk to Riolobos through the left, located four kilometres form here. You will be walking among walls and cork oak. Then you will be walking through some rural paths and through farm fields. You will have to cross the Jerte river. Once you get there you can stop to go to any of the establishments that you will find. Then you will continue through the Calle Real street and then you will get to a local road on the right side. After one kilometer you will have to turn righ to get to an stream called El Boquerón del Rivero, you will have to cross it to get to the Ermita de Nuestra Señora de La Argamasa, then you will have to walk through a road called Galisteo to get to the village.
- If you decide to continue straight forward you will get to the stream called El Boquerón del Rivero, then you will get to a road to continue through a road that will lead you to Riolobos. Then you will have to walk through a path that will lead you to Jerte, then you will get to a stream called Las Monjas. Galisteo is really close to here.
Once you get to Galisteo you will have the opportunity of walk through the old Roman road, through San Gil, but we recommend continue through the bridge over Jerte and also through the asphalted road and you will get to Aldehuela del Jerte. Once you get here you will have to wlk through the road until you get to Carcaboso, where you will find some services and where you can also stay the night.

Bear in mind
If you don’t want to go through Riolobos you can continue through a path. Nevertheles, Galisteo is a must due to its city wall. This stage is easy for everyone. This stage does not pose any additional difficulties for cyclists or people with reduced mobility.
