The activity of the small town of San Cristobal de Cea revolves entirely around the Pan de Cea, so it is considered as the main economic engine of the municipality.

The municipality has several visitable ovens where they explain the traditions and the traditional way of making the famous bread of Cea, so it has become an important tourist attraction in the area.

How to get there

The main way to reach the town of San Cristóbal de Cea is by road, the only one that reaches the town is the regional OU-504/OU-0408. These roads can be linked with the AG-53 highway that connects Santiago de Compostela with Ourense. These secondary roads can also be linked with the national road N-525.

To get there by public transport the only option is a bus company Monbus that offers a line that connects Santiago and Ourense, this line is daily and with high frequency.

The typical gastronomy of San Cristóbal de Cea revolves around the famous local bread called Pan de Cea. This has a protected Geographical Indication and is made in an artisanal way. There are also typical Galician products such as empanada, stew, octopus, beef, pork and its derivatives.
