The town of Lalín is located in the province of Pontevedra and is considered to be the epicenter of the Galician Community, kilometer zero.
The pilgrim enters a new Galician province that he or she will soon leave, but will take away a great experience after learning about the customs and gastronomic tastes of three of the four Galician provinces.

How to get there
The main way to reach the municipality of Lalín is by road since several roads reach the town such as the N-525, the N-640 and the AP-53 all three lead to the same entrance to Lalín. In addition there are several roads such as the PO-206, the PO-533 and PO-534 that are also unified for the entrance to the town.
By bus thanks to the company Alsa it is possible to arrive from Santiago de Compostela and from Madrid and the company Monbús offers regular lines that communicate Ourense with Santiago. There is also a railway line that allows you to reach the town by train, the line communicates Santiago de Compostela with Ourense and have a stop in Lalín.

What to see
Capilla de los Dolores
The Chapel of Sorrows has a baroque style and we find it in the middle of the route of the Camino de Santiago by the route of Invierno.

It consists of a single nave, some of the most impressive elements are the size of the head of this temple and the tympanum, where you can see the sculpture of the Virgin of Sorrows. The bell tower has a double body, the low one is square and slender and the high one is octagonal and finished by a dome.

Capilla de San Antón
The Chapel of San Antón is built by a single nave and what stands out the most is the impressive bell tower of great height with a single arch finished with a cross that protrudes from its facade and the lateral openings of the nave.

Capilla de San Caetano
The Chapel of San Caetano venerates San Xoan Degollado and Santa Margarita and thanks to the neighbors of the villages of Soutolongo and Lodeiro who have rebuilt it, it is still in good condition.
In the oak grove around the temple on the first Sunday of August a feast is celebrated in the village for all the neighbors.

Castro Tecnológico
The Castro Tecnológico is a curious building from 2011 (inaugurated in 2013) built by the famous architects Luis M. Mansilla and Emilio Tuñón.
It is a stylish avant-garde building that stands out from the others for its circular structure with the intention of representing the layout of the ancient Galician castros. It is currently considered an architectural reference of the XXI century worldwide, was awarded the XII Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism of Spain, in the section dedicated to civic symbols.

Estatua do Porco
The peculiar Estatua do Porco is one of the most representative images of the village. This life-size representation is forged to commemorate one of the most important gastronomic events of the autonomous community, the famous Fair of the stew, declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest, as the pig is one of the main elements of this delicious dish.

Estatua Ramón María Aller
The Statue of Ramón María Aller is a magnificent sculpture unveiled more than fifty years ago, on September 4, 1960, to honor the beloved astronomer Ramón María Aller Ulloa, born in Lalín.
The sculpture consists of a large base surrounded by a small fountain in which stands the representation of this character.

Iglesia de Goiás
The Romanesque Goiás Church was built in the 12th century and today still retains many elements of the original construction. On the facade there is a balcony and a beautiful double-arched bell tower.
Within the Renaissance style temple, we find several tombs of the García-Sánchez family, the statue stands out, which belongs to a clergyman of the same lineage.

Iglesia de Lalín de Arriba
The church of Lalín de Arriba, although it has a Romanesque style, only the apse is preserved. It only has a rectangular nave in which you can see the flared windows on each side. The highlight of the temple is a beautiful semicircular triumphal arch.

Museo Etnográfico Casa do Patrón
The Casa do Patrón Ethnographic Museum houses a huge collection, almost 3,500 items. Its facilities include a library, traditional ovens, an auditorium and even flour mills.

Museo Galego da Marioneta
The Museo Galego da Marioneta was inaugurated in 2001 thanks to the cooperation between the municipality of Lalín and the company Viravolta puppets. This space in addition to the exhibitions has a great program with introductory workshops to this art, courses for professionals, puppet theater and other activities at Christmas, summer or Easter.
Since 2014, the museum is located in the Pazo de Liñares.

Museo Municipal Ramón María Aller Ulloa
The Ramón María Aller Ulloa Municipal Museum was inaugurated in 1989 and since then has been housed in the former observatory-residence of the priest and astronomer Ramón María Aller Ulloa.
In 2011 a project was developed to put back into operation what was the first Galician astronomical observatory by placing a new telescope.

Pazo de Anzuxao
The Pazo de Anzuxao is considered one of the most beautiful pazos in the region, which is surrounded by solemn gardens and a chapel. But the architectural ensemble also has a family coat of arms as in all the manor houses, a fantastic dovecote and a granary.

Playa Fluvial Pozo do Boi
The Pozo do Boi Fluvial Beach is located in the parish of Vilatuxe about ten kilometers from Lalín. It is one of the busiest beaches in the region as it has all the necessary services to spend a good afternoon, has bathrooms, picnic areas, barbecues, etc.. Although as in all the fluvial beaches, the water of the Deza river has a temperature a little cold for some, but the fact of being able to bathe in this natural place with water certified as of excellent quality, counteracts the cold temperature. In addition, it has several depths, an area for children and one for adults.
