In 1874 the clock tower was added to the building.

Iglesia Parroquial de San Pedro
The parish church of San Pedro housed in ancient times the convent of San Francisco, which, although there is no evidence to ensure who was the one who created it is said to have been founded by St. Francis on his pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. Lugo Cathedral, which began construction in early 1129, combines a number of architectural styles.
On its exterior you can appreciate the main facade of purely neoclassical style while the opposite facade is of Romanesque style. In the latter can be seen images made in stone of San Froilán, considered the patron saint of the city, and San Cápito, the first priest of Lugo. The upper part of this part of the temple is presided over by the sculpture of Faith with the virile and, on both sides, the four evangelists are located.

Museo Provincial de Lugo
This museum was inaugurated in 1934 on the initiative of the Diputación de Lugo, with the aim of protecting and preserving the cultural heritage of Lugo. At first it was located in the Pazo de San Marcos, hosting a number of archaeological, historical, artistic, etc.. But soon the entire collection had to be moved to the old convent of San Francisco, due to the lack of space and the increase of vestiges of great heritage interest.
