This stage has approximately 20 kilometers, once you conclude today’s stage you will enjoy a wonderful village: Albergaria a Velha.
You will leave Águeda through the Rua 5 de Outubro street towards Paredes. You will cross Largo Senhora da Boa Morte and then you will cross a stone cross just before getting to a village. You will have to walk through the Rua Anunciaçaão Helena street and then you will turn right to rua Vale D’Erva, where you will have to go towards O Portinho, always walking up. You will have to cross the industrial area of Mourisca do Vouga. Once you get to this village that belongs to Águeda you will have to cross Rua da Liberdade and Rua 25 de Abril streets and at the end cross the IC2 towards Pedacães.
After walking up a little bit you will have to descend to get to Ponte do Marnel bridge over the river with the same name; this bridge was built in the 14 century. This bridge used to be the old road that linked Porto and Coimbra. After crossing the river you will have to turn left crossing the N-1 through an underpass and then crossing a church and then Lamas do Vouga’s cemetery. Then you will have to walk through Estrada Real to get to Ponte do Vouga, this road used to be part of Estrada Coimbrã.
Then you will cross some villages such as: Pontilhão, Lameiro and Serém de Cima that is a small village that belongs to Mcinhata do Vouga. You will have to cross through Estrada Real and Rua Central street continuing through the old Roman road to get to Albergaría A Velha, you will get to this place after crossing Asseilhó. You can’t leave this village without visiting its Câmara Municipal and the gardens of the Plaza Ferreira Tavares square.
