How to get there
To access the municipality of Alvaiázere the easiest way is to reach Coimbra by the A-13 or, if coming from Lisbon, take the E-1 to Torres Novas. Then turn off onto the E-23 and then the E-13.
If you are coming from Salamanca, take the E-80 and then the E-802 to connect with the IC-8 road or the A-23 to Torres Novas and then the A-13.

Antas do Ramalhal
Antas do Ramalhal is a megalithic complex located in the village of the same name, in the municipality of Alvaiázere, and arranged on the right bank of the Rego da Murta river, on a plain populated with eucalyptus trees.

These archaeological remains are a clear sign of the settlement of several villages in the area since ancient times. Among these megalithic remains are ancient windmills, lime kilns and oil mills.

Capilla dos Covões
The chapel known as “Capela dos Covões” is located in the municipality of Alvaiázere and is a religious temple dating from the 18th century. Of the chapel stands out its main altar, which has very old architectural traces.
<pThe chapel has a large portico with three semicircular arches, the central one being the largest. This portico culminates in a cross and, on both sides, there are two small bell towers.

Museo Municipal
The municipal museum of Alvaiázere was built with the purpose of divulging the customs and traditions that marked the past and present of the city of Alvaiázare. Today it shows visitors a permanent exhibition on the most traditional trades known as “Time, Space and Memory”. As well as other outstanding temporary exhibitions such as the archaeological one, which chronologically shows remains found in the area belonging from the Paleolithic to the Middle Ages.
