What to see
Área Recreativa de la Madalena
La Madalena comprises a large landscaped entertainment area, which has an extension of three hectares along the river bank. It is located in a natural area with abundant vegetation native to the area and offers a wide variety of services dedicated to the practice of different sports and other activities, such as running, basketball, fishing, soccer, tennis, etc.
.
A river walk begins in this recreational area and in the surrounding area there is a water park. In addition, in the vicinity of La Madalena, there is a chapel of the same name, in honor of St. Lazarus and some mills.

Casa de la Cultura
The House of Culture was built in 1842 with the intention of establishing there the headquarters of the town hall and to house the prison of the Carlist party. Currently its use is intended for the exhibition of paintings and photographs.

Charca do Alligal
The Charca do Alligal is a pool of medicinal waters that is surrounded by a birch forest, in an area of abundant nature.
The Charca do Alligal is a pool of medicinal waters that is surrounded by a birch forest, in an area of abundant nature.
The first pool that was built, around 1930, was made of stone and had smaller dimensions. In contrast, the one that can be seen today is about 30 meters in diameter and is made of concrete. From the floor of this medicinal fountain spring different holes of the spring, which can be easily appreciated by the bubbles that form and rise to the surface.

Iglesia de Santa María
The parish church of Santa Maria is located in the square of the same name and replaces the old temple of Romanesque style. The reconstruction of the present church was in the second half of the 19th century and carried out by Manuel Mato Vizoso, who, according to himself, knew the previous one when he was just a child.

Museo de Prehistoria y Arqueología
The Museum of Prehistory and Archaeology of Vilalba is located in Domingo Goás street. The activities carried out in this museum have to do mainly with research, collection, conservation and dissemination of Prehistory and Ancient History of Galicia. The museum is a Municipal Public Foundation.
There is a permanent exhibition in which the visitor enjoys a tour of the different cultures that settled in earlier times in the Northwest of the Iberian Peninsula. In addition to this, you can see other temporary exhibitions that are repeated because they have a great expectation, such as the holding of seminars, courses and conferences.

Paseo Fluvial
The river walk runs along the Madalena river, in the vicinity of the urban center of the town. The itinerary along the walk begins at the Molino del Rañego, on the road leading to the town of Baamonde, very close to the village, and ends at the river beach.
All along the route you can see several mills, since all the towns that comprise the region of Terra Chá have a tradition linked to cereal.

Puentes
Because Villalba is a town crossed by several rivers, the bridges could not be missing. The most important of the town are the Martiñán and Saá.
The Martiñán bridge was built around the 17th century over the Batán river and the Saá bridge crosses the Labrada river. The latter has been restored combining the modern style with the original medieval. It has two semicircular arches and a dozen drains, which prevent water from accumulating in it during the winter months.

Torre de los Andrade
The Andrade Tower is the only thing that remains of the old castle, which succeeded another fortress of the early fourteenth century, at the time of King Ferdinand IV of Castile.
In 1341, the tower was demolished when the First Irmandiña Revolt took place. It was rebuilt again but, again, it was destroyed in the Second Irmandiña Revolt, between 1467 and 1469. In the 15th century it was rebuilt again and finally it survived to the present day.
The octagonal shape of this tower, very different from the others that can be seen in Galicia, is very striking.
At present, the tower serves as a Parador Nacional de Turismo, being, since the fifteenth century, the greatest witness of the origin of the town.
