The town of Lezama, formerly Santa Maria de Lezama, is located in the Greater Bilbao region in the province of Bizkaia. It was formerly a anteiglesia, a village formed around a parish church, belonging to the merindad (typical twelfth-century geographical distribution) of Uribe.

It should be noted that all its monuments and historic buildings are closely related to the medieval manors.

To reach the municipality of Lezama by road, take the national road N-367 that connects Asua with Erletxes and has an exit in Lezama.
