In this stage, you will leave Navarre and enter in La Rioja where the best wines in Spain are produced. This is not an easy stage. You will have to make a big effort to get to the end of the stage. During this stage, you will cross Logroño and you will also be accompanied by one of the biggest rivers in Spain, the Ebro River.
If yesterday you decided to stay the night at Los Arcos now you will have to cross the cementery and the Capilla de San Lázaro chapel to start this new stage. First, you will walk through a dusty trail that goes parallel to the NA-1110 to Sansol. In Sansol you will be able to see for the first time Torres del Río. There is one kilometre left to get to Torres del Río.
You will leave the village that used to be calle Torres de Sansol to start the hardest part of this stage, the rising to Viana. You will start to rise to the highest part of the village to go first trough a track and then trough a road that will allow us to cross again the N-1110 to finally get to the Ermita de la Virgen de Poyo hermitage, located in Bargota. According to the legend, Bargota was the place where a famous warlock used to live that was persecuted by Inquisition. A little bit after, you will go through Barranco de Cornava, among pine trees, vineyard and also fruit trees. Then you will return to the national road to Viana.
You will leave the N-1110 to get into Viana and its old city. Some of its streets are El Cristo, La Pila, El Portal de la Trinidad and also Plaza del Coso and Calle Mayor, all these streets will lead you to the Plaza del Ayuntamiento square also known as the Plaza de los Fueros square. It is a must visit the gothic church called Iglesia de Santa María church.
You will continue your way to Logroño leaving Viana behind and crossing the colegio Ricardo Campano School and walking through a path that will link a little bit after the N-7220 with the NA-1110. You will continue your way among crop fields, a little bit after you will see a huge signposting of Observatorio El Bordón, Laguna de las Cañas and at the right you will go through a pine forest.
You should cross again the road, and then you will see the border between La Rioja and Navarra. You will walk now through cereal fields, an asphalted road up to the home of the famous Señora Felisa, who is a famous woman in the Way. he is always helping pilgrims, she will provide you anything that you need. After you will go to the Ebro River. You will cross it through a primitive bridge made of stone to walk to the end of this stage.

Bear in mind
This is not a large stage but you have to take into account that it has many ups and downs, gravel and dust. You have to pay attention and be careful to avoid accidents.
For cyclists it is a complicated stage, we recommend them go through the national road to Viana that has no traffic. From Viana to Logroño the road is easier and they will be able to it with no problems.
For people with reduced mobility, this route is complicated and we recommend them it. We recommend the go through the N-111 all the stage.
