In O Pedrouzo pilgrims make their last stop before arriving in Santiago de Compostela. It is a small town belonging to the parish of Arca, which in turn is part of the municipality of O Pino.

This can cause some confusion when it comes to clarifying where to spend the night, puzzling many pilgrims by this extensive administrative delimitation. In a small town that only offers basic services, which have been increasing over the years thanks to being a mandatory stop on the Jacobean route.

What to see

Iglesia de Santa María de Gonzar

The Church of Santa María de Gonzar has baroque forms and is located in an idyllic setting, next to the old rectory and one of the most unique crosses of the entire municipality of O Pino. It is formed by a Latin cross plan, transept and presbytery.

Iglesia de Santa María de Castrofeito

The Church of Santa María de Castrofeito has its origins in the late nineteenth century and is characterized by a clear neoclassical style.

The main body is mainly made of concrete and has a nave and sacristy attached on the left bank, in addition to a Moorish roof and a simple bell tower. It is notable for its natural location and the surrounding cemetery.

Iglesia de Santa Eulalia de Arca

The Church of Santa Eulalia de Arca is a temple of neoclassical style that occupies large dimensions, with two naves, Latin cross plan and a large stone bell tower formed by two bells. It has stairs to access the choir area as well as the bell tower, being able to observe in its main facade the pilasters and the triangular pediment. This is highly decorated, highlighting a scallop-shaped ornamentation on the altar wall.

Pazo do Picón

The Pazo do Picón is a baroque style building with a U-shaped floor plan, low doors and square windows. In its construction was used mainly slate masonry.

Antigua Escuela de O Pino

The old school of O Pino was built thanks to donations from emigrants from Havana. It was in operation until about the 1970s.

The construction highlights the shape of the windows, imitating the traces of the Indian architecture, as well as in the interior, the use of tile and platelet with drawings characteristic of the houses of Indians.

Iglesia de San Vicente de O Pino

The Church of San Vicente de O Pino is a baroque style temple built in the eighteenth century. It has a nave covered with barrel vault and its base is structured on a Latin cross plan. It also has a transept decorated with hanging pilasters, toral arches and groin vault. The presbytery has pilasters in the triumphal arch and groin vault in the closing arch.

Hórreo Rectoral de Arca

The Hórreo de Arca has large dimensions, being divided into two floors. The ground floor, where farming tools were kept, was used as a cellar. This was closed in all its extension except the access by masonry walls. The upper floor has a gable roof and is accessed through a staircase.

The fountain located in O Pino was built in the early twentieth century with scallop-shaped figures on top and a pedestal on which is placed the image of San Antonio, imitating the entrance of Roman temples.

Ermita de San Andrés

The Hermitage of San Andrés is composed of a rectangular chapel with a single nave and a gabled roof. The masonry walls are painted white except for the corners.

It also has a lintel door and a square window above it. It also has no belfry and instead there is a machon and, on it, a cross.
