In the eleventh century is the first time that this village appears documented for having been the place of passage of the defensive line of Castile, which was formed by some turrets.
At that time the village was called Fornillos (small ovens) for being a place where the tiles were cooked, later the name was derived in Hornillos del Camino.

The main way to get to the village of Hornillos del Camino is from Burgos. Once arrived in the city of Burgos take the A-231 highway to Villanueva de Argaño and then take the BU-406 road, this will take us to the center of the village, specifically to the street of Cantarranas.
