In the eleventh century is the first time that this village appears documented for having been the place of passage of the defensive line of Castile, which was formed by some turrets.
At that time the village was called Fornillos (small ovens) for being a place where the tiles were cooked, later the name was derived in Hornillos del Camino.

Iglesia parroquial de San Román Mártir
