Get to know Belorado

The town of Belorado is closely linked to the Jacobean route since it is located on the route of the French Way, specifically in the vicinity of the Sierra de la Demanda. Reliable proof of this is the star of Compostela drawn on the municipal coat of arms.

Belorado was growing as the Camino was doing so the pilgrim will not miss anything, the village offers the basic services that any walker needs.

How to get there

The main way to get to the town of Belorado is going first to Burgos by road and once there take the N-120 and follow 40km towards Belorado. Another option is to go to the city of Logroño and then turn off to the A-12 and then N-120 until arrival.

To arrive by public transport the best option is to get to Burgos or Logroño and from there take a bus to Belorado. From both cities there are several lines that cover the route several times a day, particularly from Logroño is offered by the company Jimenez.

Also, the company PLM has a daily line that connects Pamplona and Madrid with a stop in Belorado, the company Unión Alavesa offers a daily line that connects Belorado with Bilbao and there are also lines that communicate the town with Madrid and Pamplona.

The most famous dish of the town of Belorado is the Caparrón, a recipe based on beans. In general, in this town the products of the garden are of great importance thanks to their high quality, such as onions, garlic, peppers, leeks and cereals.
