There are approximately 30 kilometers between Tomar and Alvaiázere. You will walk through medieval and roman paths. You will cross many bridges such as Peniche that used to be the old road to link Tomar and Coimbra.

There are no services in most part of the village that you will cross today so the best option is to buy everything and also refill the water bottle at the beginning of the stage. This is an easy stage for everyone.

Km 0 – Inicio
You will start following the train rail through a parallel path that will lead you to Lafo Da Várzea Grande. Here it is located São Francisco’s church and convent that house a museum) after this stop you will continue through the Avenida General Bernardo Faria and then you will get to the streets called Infantaria 11 and Silva Magalhães to Praça da República street. Then you should turn right to leave the center through Serpa Pinto street that will lead you to a bridge over the Nbão river. Then you will continue to get to the bullring.
Then you should turn left and go through António Duarte Faustino street to get to another bridge in this case Peniche. It is a Romanesque bridge that is part of Vía Tomar – Coimbra since the 16 century. Then you will get to Alto da Chocalheira and also to Lugar de Casais, Lugar de Soianda, Lugar de Calvinos and Lugar de Chãos de Eiras. Once you get to this last place you will be near to Ribeira de Ceras, here you will find a bridge with the same name. A little bit after you will change this medieval path to another Roman road that will lead you to Alto de Espanha, crossing some villages such as Portela de Vila Verde, Daporta and Venda dos Temouços.
In this last village, you should turn left and then right to get to a forest path that will lead you to the crossing between N110 and M346. Now you have to return to the asphalted road and continue through the national road to get to Cortiça where you should turn right to O Outeiro da Cotovia. Once you get to this place you have to turn left going through Outeirinho, Feteiras, Vila Nova, Casal Nova, Seixeira and then getting to the end of today’s stage: Alvaiázere. You have crossed too many villages to get here, lots of villages full of history and culture.
