About this stage
Today’s stage will be a little bit more complicated and also longer than yesterday’s stage. Today you will walk through some forests and meadows full of typical Galician trees. You will have to take at the beginning everything you could need because there are no establishments or services.

This is a long a hard stage so you should keep calm and relax. You have to rest as many times as you need, take your time to do this stage. Moreover, this stage has no services in-between so you will have to take all the needed things from the very beginning.

Km 0 – Inicio
You will start in the Plaza de Los hermanos García Naviera square. This siblings used to live in Betanzos in the 20 century. You will cross the Convento de Santo Domingo convent. Then you will get to the Rúa do Rollo street to get to As Cascas that is a bridge from the 12 century that was destroyed in 1809 by the British army. After crossing the road you will start to ascend to turn right a little bit after, once you get to a wall, towards Couto, now you will leave the city to enter in the rural area, so you need to take with you everything that you could need. You will have to cross a bridge over the train rails and then a flyover over the A-6. After crossing this you will have to turn right towards Xanrozo and once you get to a football field you will enter into a path to cross the Puente de Limiñon bridge. Then you will cross Cos where you will find a church devoted to San Estaban. After crossing a small stream in Meangos and also Cima de Vila you will start to walk up, this is the hardest part in today’s stage. Now you will have to turn left and cross a forest path and a road to get to Presado, Leiro. After resting for a while you will walk through Francos towards a road that you will leave a little bit after to go through the other side of the river. A little bit after you will have to turn right. Here you will find the last bar before Bruma, Casa Julia, so if you want to buy any drink or sank this is the best moment. You will continue walking up to get to Vizoño the route now turns very complicated until you get to a rest area you will find normal paths and also asphalted paths up to a bridge over the highway in A Malata. Then you will get to Mesón do Vento, a place near the hostel. If you want to stay the night in other kind of accommodation or even buy anything you can stop here because it has all kind of services. Burma’s hostel has a deep history and there still are many remains of the old pilgrim’s hospital, a gothic hospital. You will also find the Capilla de San Lorenzo chapel.
