The town of La Calzada de Béjar belongs to the region of the Sierra de Béjer, which is located in the province of Salamanca.

What to see

Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción

It is a building of large proportions, combining different architectural styles: Mudejar, Baroque, Romanesque and Gothic. Its interior is made up of three naves with large semicircular arches. In the central nave is the main altar, of Mudejar style and whose altarpiece represents the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. On the sides there are several altars in honor of the Sacred Hearts, Saint Anne and the Christ of Mercy. Among all the altarpieces of this temple highlights the one dedicated to the Martyrs of the sixteenth century.
