Get to know A Fonsagrada
The municipality of A Fonsagrada owes its name to a fountain in the village called Fons Sacrata, which has many legends related to the pilgrimage route and the Apostle.
A Fonsagrada is the first place where the pilgrim will have contact with the Galician Community, also note that it is located almost 1,000 meters above sea level so in winter it is very normal that snow.
Location
How to get there
To reach the municipality of A Fonsagrada, the most recommended option is to take the LU-630 regional road that runs very close to the pilgrim since it has a very similar route to the one followed by the Primitive Way.
To get there by public transport, there is a bus that communicates Lugo with the municipality on a daily basis thanks to the company Her-vei.

The church of San Pedro de Neiro has been recently repaired and has a Latin cross floor plan, made of slate masonry, with a gable roof.
The temple stands out, undoubtedly, the grandiose entrance portico, which has three arches, the one in the center being the largest. The bell tower is divided into two parts: the first ends in a small gable roof, serving as a cover for the bells, and the second part of the bell tower corresponds to an arched opening in the center and finished with a triangular pediment.

Iglesia de San Andrés de Logares
It is a church built in schist masonry with a Latin cross plan. The entrance to the temple is through a square arched portico, with a three-sided slate roof. The most outstanding feature of the building is the bell tower, also made of masonry and baroque style. This bell tower consists of three bodies: the first body has two arched openings for the bells, the second body has a smaller opening, ending in a triangular pediment.

Hospital de Montouto
Founded in the mid-fourteenth century by Peter the Cruel, it is currently in ruins of which only one building remains standing thanks to its reconstruction with stone masonry.

Hórreos de Lamas de Moreira
It is a hórreo with a square floor plan in the Asturian style and built entirely of wooden planks except for the roof, which is made of slate. The highlight of this small construction are the “tornarratos”, a slab of slate that is placed between the feet and the structure so that mice and other small animals can not enter.

Castillo de la Fortaleza y Torre de Burón
Only the remains of one of its towers remain of this renowned castle of La Puebla de Burón, as it was almost completely destroyed in the mid-twentieth century.

Capilla de San José
Square in plan and made of schist masonry with a slate gable roof, the chapel of San José de Burón stands out for its façade, from which the bell tower stands out, culminating in two arched openings, the largest of which is square. The other opening is smaller and is a curved tympanum. From the base of the bell tower there are two curved branches, very common of the baroque style, which extend to the corners of the facade of the temple.
