How to get there
The town of Ribadesella is very well connected thanks to the A-8 highway, both from Oviedo, Gijón and Santander should take the highway and leave it at exit 326 or 333 depending on what part of the municipality goes. It can also be reached by the national roads N-634 and N-632.
Also, the town has a bus station where the company Alsa operates and communicates the town with Gijón, Madrid, Santander, Oviedo and A Coruña among other cities.
The train station of Ribadesella offers regular rail lines such as the one that connects the city of Oviedo with the town of Ribadesella.

What to see
Casa Ardines
The Ardines House was built in the eighteenth century and belongs to the group of palaces and mansions that are arranged throughout the old town of Ribadesella. It is a three-story house where it stands out, in the lower part, a porch with a single arch. The facade has balconies and a coat of arms of the Ardines.

Chalet de Indianos
The Chalet de Indianos Villa Rosario was designed by the architect José Quesada Espulgas in 1924 and is named after the wife of Mr. Antonio Quesada González, who earned a lot of money in Cuba working as a tobacco merchant.

It is a building with exuberant decoration and presents a vitrified tile roof. In addition, it is located on the outskirts of Santa Marina beach, a very fashionable area since the previous century. This building is currently used as a hotel.

Chalet de los hermanos Uría Aza
The Uría-Aza Brothers’ Chalet or also formerly known as Chalet Antero Prieto because it belonged to that family, was designed by architect Miguel García-Lomas Somoano. Today this property belongs to Mexican descendants.
At present this mansion has acquired the name of the Uría-Aza brothers, born in Ribadesella. In the garden of this house-chalet stand out some sculptures made by themselves although they are known for painting numerous works of the Church of Santa Maria Magdalena.

Cueva de la Lloseta
The Cueva de la Lloseta also known as La Moría or del Río is a cave that presents prehistoric paintings thanks to which it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest. These paintings represent a horse, two goats, a series of red dots and a sign in red and black.

Cueva de Les Pedroses
The Cave of Les Pedroses was discovered in 1956 by Francisco Jordá. It has in its interior engravings of three headless animals and a figure of a complete horse with a fine outline.

The Tito Bustillo Cave is a cave with prehistoric paintings dating from 22000 to 10000 BC that was discovered in 1968 and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008.

Cueva Rosa
The Pink Cave is a Partial Natural Reserve that houses an interesting set of karst rocks noted for their varied shape. This reserve has the largest troglobitic fauna (a group of animals that have evolved to adapt to life in caves) in Asturias with more than 30 species of insects.
It is also considered the most important cave in the region because of the number of bats it houses.

The Pilgrims’ Fountain is located in front of the Sanctuary of San Mamés de Cuerres of medieval origin. As for its structure, it is shaped like a small house all built with stone and covered by a gable roof. On its facade is the water spout and topped with a triangular pediment.

The Church of San Esteban de Leces is an old Romanesque temple that had to be completely remodeled in 1958 after the Civil War. It is characterized by having a primitive building very similar to that of the Sanctuary of Santa María de Junco and has a single nave and a semicircular apse. It is necessary to emphasize that of its origin the window of the apse with capitals decorated with birds confronted and some decorated corbels is conserved.

The Church of Santa Maria de Junco is a temple of Romanesque origin dating from the thirteenth century, although it was destroyed during the Civil War and was finally restored in 1984. This temple has a single rectangular nave with semicircular apse that has a small window and on the main facade highlights the coat of arms of the Junco family. Remains of the decoration are preserved in the apse of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries.

The parish church of Santa María Magdalena was begun in 1924 on the Romanesque remains of a previous one. However, it was destroyed in 1936, so it had to be rebuilt.
It is a temple that houses a grandiose dome over the transept and inside houses the altarpiece carved in stone by the sculptor Emilio del Valle. Above the dome of the transept are the mural paintings that give prestige to the temple made by Bernardo, Antonio and Celestino Uría-Aza.
Therefore, this church in the town of Ribadesella, treasures in its interior a spectacular contemporary work of three artists worthy of admiration. The four grandiose murals that were begun in the Second Republic and were finished in the Postwar period due to the civil war, the problems of financing the artists, the human misery and hardship, the problems of supply, etc.

Paseo de la princesa Letizia
The Paseo de la Princesa Letizia is a promenade in honor of the current Queen of Spain, has a great extension and runs from where the Sella bridge ends to the Lonja del Pescado.
Along with the street of the Marquises of Argüelles is a wide crossing where most of the restaurants and cider bars of the town are located.

Restos de dinosaurios
In the Asturian community, specifically between Villaviciosa and Ribadesella, there is a maritime strip with several sites from the Secondary Era. The marshes and coasts, as well as the cliffs, were the places where the greatest number of footprints were preserved.

Santuario de San Mamés
The Sanctuary of San Mamés de Cuerres is a church built in the fourteenth century that has a stone vault in which you can see crosses and engravings of that time. Inside it houses an image in honor of San Mamés along with others of San Antón and the Virgen del Rosario.

Torre del Junco
La Torre de Junco is a 14th century manor house that was located in a strategic area and belonged to the lineage of the Ruiz Junco. It has a square floor plan divided into two floors and it is worth noting the main facade for its facade dating from the mid-sixteenth century. This one is displaced towards a side and it was made in ashlars of stone of dark gray color. A family coat of arms can be seen on the façade.

Palacio de la familia Prieto Collado
The palace of Prieto Collado also known as Casa del Escudo is a baroque building located near the Church of Santa Maria Magdalena. It has three floors and a first floor, it is famous for being the place where the painter Dario de Regoyos was born.
It is worth noting the balcony that extends across the entire front of the main facade and the coat of arms belonging to the Marquises of Collado.
Currently this Palace is known as the Casa del Collado and inside it houses the headquarters of the Post Office of the Villa.

Torre de San Esteban
The Tower of San Esteban is located in the parish of Leces, in the vicinity of the Church of San Esteban de Leces. It is a manor house of the Ruiz de Junco family built between the fourteenth or fifteenth centuries.
Over time the tower was undergoing some remodeling and is currently surrounded by other buildings. It has a square floor plan and has three floors. From the main facade highlights the great cover of mid-sixteenth century and elaborated based on ashlars and the coat of arms.
On the third floor there is a small window that ends in a pointed arch and on the left, on the first floor and next to the doorway, there is a small door on which you can see a stone linteled opening.

Torre de la Atalaya
The Torre de la Atalaya was built in the nineteenth century on the remains of an ancient defensive tower of medieval origin. It is located in the Plaza de Villar y Valle also known as the Plaza de la Atalaya.
This building has a medieval style with a square floor made of masonry topped by battlements. At present it is conditioned as a house and is striking for the fact that it is covered by a large vine.

The Church of San Martín de Collera is the only thing that remains today of the old Monastery of San Martín de Collera, built in 1052. That only the church is preserved is due to the wear and tear of the passage of centuries and especially the effects of the Civil War.
It should be noted that the church inside houses four pieces carved in stone, possibly of Romanesque origin, and a chapel dating from the eighteenth century.

Capilla de la Virgen de la guía
The Chapel of the Virgin of the Guide is located at the top of Mount Corberu. It was built in the sixteenth century following a protorrenacentista style and under the designs of the Guild of Mareantes, the oldest collective of Spain.
<pAt present, the side facade of this temple stands out for its state of preservation and for being made of well squared ashlars.

Capilla de Santa Rita
The Chapel of Santa Rita is a small temple built in 1666 to replace a previous one in poor condition. It is built by three well differentiated bodies: an open portico, the nave that protrudes in height and the chancel.
