Get to know Güemes

This small town in Cantabria is known for its beautiful valley, bathed by the Rumego, Cabra, Las Calderas and Liermo streams. These converge to form the Aguachica, one of the tributaries of the Campiazo river.

From these lands originate the famous stonemasons Gonzalo Güemes Bracamonte, Francisco de Viadero García de Güemes, Pedro de Cereceda and the Güemes Campero family, all of them from between the sixteenth and seventeenth century.
