It is worth mentioning that in summer period in this town its number of inhabitants quadruples, not to mention the high number of pilgrims who pass through here every day.

How to get there
The main way to get to the village of San Juan de Ortega is from Burgos, take the N-120 to the village of Santovenia de Oca, then the BU-V-7012 and then take the Plaza Mayor street to San Juan de Ortega. If you are coming from Logroño, take the LO-20 to link with the A-12 and then the N-120 to link with the local road that will take you to the village.
Another option for those coming from Miranda del Ebro is to take the AP-1/E-80 to Quintanapalla, where you take the BU-701 to Barrios de la Colina and a few meters past the village you can see a sign indicating the turnoff to San Juan de Ortega.

What to see
Monasterio
The Monastery of San Juan de Ortega houses a church and a cloister from the 12th and 13th centuries. Highlights of the interior of the temple are the Romanesque-style capitals, the Gothic baldachin with floral decoration and scenes from the life of the founder, San Juan de Ortega, and a beautiful Romanesque tomb.
<pOn the other hand, the exterior only highlights the cloister restored in the sixteenth century and the chapel of San Nicolas protected by a grille of Renaissance style.
