Camino de Santiago from Tui

Tui is a famous town outside the pilgrimage to Santiago because it is a border town that separates the countries of Spain and Portugal. But it is also famous within the Jacobean route, more specifically, within the Portuguese Way, for being the starting point for the last 100 km of this route.

Why from Tui ?

As we have mentioned before, this Galician town is the last starting point to complete the last 100 km of the Portuguese Way. But, you may be wondering why is it so special to walk the last 100 km?

Well, the main reason is that this distance is the minimum distance to be entitled to get the longed Compostela; so by walking the Camino from Tui you can cover the minimum distance necessary to have the official documentation of having accomplished the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela.

This same factor has meant that this stretch of the Portuguese Way has gained fame and many resources have been invested to the creation of services aimed at pilgrims. Leaving from Tui means that the pilgrim will lack nothing.

It is also the perfect way to do the Camino for the first time. Beacuse you will be able to know if, in the future, you could walk a longer route to live the experience to the fullest.
