Portuguese Coastal Way: Stage 6

We take the ferry to cross the river and enter Galician lands, and once we land, we take the first slope to our left. The arrows will guide us to Camposancos road. Once we have passed Saa’s neighborhood we will reach the PO-355 road towards A Guarda.

We move on through Rua San Bernardo to Rua da Guía and, down Rua Baixada a Praia, we will reach the beach at the end of the village. We will now start a path next to the sea until getting to the slope to the PO-552 road. It will take us to O Rosal village, where we will take to the left towards Portecelo.

We will walk through a cycle path to reach San Sebastián chapel and enter the village of Oia. Here we will walk down the beach to get into a dirt path to our left and next to Punta Orelluda we will return to the cycle path. We will pass by a hotel and a gas station, then we will cross the road and take an ascending street. Following the arrows, we will avoid a paved road section. We return again to the paved road and take a diversion through a dirt path that will lead us to the mouth of river Mougás. We arrive at Porto Mougás, end of this first stage on Galician lands.

Ferry’s timetables The first ferry leaves Caminha at 10am (11am on weekends and bank holidays), and then o’clock until 7pm, except when the tide is low. Besides, there is no service on Mondays. This journey lasts for 15 minutes and the ticket is 1,50 € / person. In case you have a bike, you will need to pay a 0,50 € surcharge.
