Stage marked by its flat profile, honouring the name of the area in which we find
ourselves: Terra Chá (flat land, in English). We will walk across endless green fields full of
cattle, although very close to the national road, which means that there are plenty of
places to stock up on food and water along the stage.
Recommendation Pilgrim
Being a quite plane and easy surface, pilgrims will find no slopes in this stage. There are not many road
kilometers but we always recommend to pay attention in N-634 crossroads. This stage is easy for everyone.

Itinerary
Km 0 ‧ Abadín
We set off from the post office in Abadín and, just one kilometre ahead, we will pass by
the church in honor of Santa María. There, we take an uphill path to the right that goes
deep into the forest and towards the river Anllo, which we can cross by a wooden
footbridge.
An easy walk along paved and dirt paths will take us to Martiñán, where we
need to cross the national road, heading towards one of the most famous bridges in the
Terra Chá. However, before reaching it, we have to cross over the highway direction
Castromaior.
From here, we will descend again towards the river and cross the highway again, this time
by an underpass. We dive right into the typical Galician rural countryside, and, for the next
seven kilometres and until we reach the place of Viladóniga, we will not find any services.
After these small villages, we will reach the first parish in Vilalba municipality: Corbelle.
We are getting very close to Martiñán bridge. We just need to cross the national road
again to see this 17th century work of civil engineering, under the prevailing canons of the
time and built using traditional craftsmanship methods of the area.
Km 8,8 ‧ Martiñán
After a short hill, we finally find ourselves right in the Terra Chá: before us, ten kilometres
of gentle orography, alternating dirt and paved paths. The next parish we will walk past is
Goiriz, with its neogothic style parish church standing out.
Km 15 ‧ O Campo do Cristo (Goiriz)
From the church, we must follow the national road for a few metres in order to take a path
right by the washing site, in the place of O Francés. Vilalba is just a stone’s throw away.
By a pedestrian footbridge over road LU-861, we will join a dirt path that later becomes
paved, leading right into town. Its white maple, called Pravia is a must-see, located at the
entrance of the village, as well as the Andrade’s old castle tower (currently the Parador de
Turismo). We can also visit Santa María parish church and the Pazo de Penas-Corbeiras,
very close to the town centre.
