You will start the Portuguese Way in Lisbon one of the most amazing cities in Portugal. There are just 25 kilometers between Lisbon and one of the most visited cities in Portugal: Fátima. The Way between both cities is known as Camino do Tejo.
You will start this Way in front of Lisbon’s cathedral. The first streets that you will cross are Cruzes da Sé, São João da Praça, Largo de São Rafael, São Pedro and Largo do Chafariz de Dentro this last street links with Rua dos Remédios and also with Paraíso to get to Campo de Santa Clara. You will continue going through the streets and also through the old city to Parque das Naçoes park, you will get here following the yellow arrows through the Avenida Infante D. Henrique avenue and the Rua de Vale Fermoso de Baixo street. Once you have crossed all these infrastructures built for the Expo ’98 through Alameda de Océanos that is where it starts Caminho do Tejo a route that goes to Portugal’s pilgrimage center: Fátima.
Then you will walk through Passeio das Tagides that was named after the Nereids and nymphs of the Tagus river, to Vasco da Gama Tower. Then you will continue parallel to the river through a riverside walk and enter a little bit after in Trançao walk to Sacavém. Once you get there you will have to cross an old bridge of the national road and then you will have to turn left to continue through a pedestrian path next to the Trancão river and going next to the dual carriageway a little bit after. You will see the remains of Quinta do Monteiro-Mor, its origins are from the 18 century and nowadays it houses the Museu Nacional do Teatro e da Dança museum. Then you will go through Quinta do Basileiro in Granja and then you will go through the M115-5 to Alpriarte.
After crossing this village in Vilalonga you will enter into a path that starts at the right and will lead you to Morgado. You will have to turn right into a private path that is used to get to an asphalted road, then you will go through an underpass that crosses the dual carriageway. Once you get again to an asphalted road you will turn right to Santa Iria being careful with the traffic. Once you get there you will get to a roundabout where you will turn right again and then to the left, when you see a bridge over the train rails.
Then you will cross a marsh where it used to be a salt exploitation and you will see another bridge, you have to turn left and then to the right to get to the Museu do Air museum. Then you will get to Alverca, where you will have to cross again the train rails to get to Rua Infante D. Pedro. From there you will continue through the right, through Avenida 20 de Maio and just a few meter after you will turn right again to get to a football field. Then you will have to walk again through a private path that goes through Qinta do Cochão and turning right again to Quinta do Pinheiro. After crossing this last Quinta you will have to turn left and get to the national road, you will go through it to get to Alhandra. You will have to leave the national road to get to the city center.

Bear in mind
The best option is to get to Lisbon a day before starting the way to enjoy this wonderful city and visit all the monuments. This is an easy stage for everyone.
